Pioneering wood
Although wood is a growing resource, it's necessary to be economical of it. In the rain-forest the size of a football pitch is cut down every four seconds - that is much faster than new wood can grow. We provide wood for pioneering (e.g. building tents, tables, flag poles etc.).
When you saw that wood, we can only use it to fuel fires afterwards. This means new pioneering wood has to be cut down and woods and living spaces are destroyed. Not only the rainforest is precious, but also our woods. Many plants and animals depend on the forests. To take care of the forest, we recycle and use the pioneering timber again.
Thatâs why: Do not saw or burn pioneering wood! Neither use screws, nails or other metall pieces. It is amazing how much you can achieve using plain rope!
